One of Doctor Rook's tools happens to be a super potent telescope, brought for the sole purpose of observing astros. This telescope is free use to everyone.
Here are the amazing sights one can view with the telescope
Jutland Gamma Quadrant Unknown Body #0001 Notes by Rook: Potential White Hole?
More to come
Special notes
Dr. Augustus Rook is thinking about pinpointing the exact location of Planet Earth, point the telescope there and then allow, for the first time in History, to capture images of our Homeplanet 40 thousand years ago, when our species were still primitive cavemen. The priority however is to find a way back home, so this project is on hold.
Feel free to ICly begin attributing each of these their own name. The names that stick will become official.

That's a common misconception. The reality is that they are fairly luminous due to the accretion disk forming around them (that is the matter being sucked in that is being super condensed and hasn't fallen in the Event Horizon yet). Blackholes also shoot out amazing quantities of mass at 99.9% the speed of light through their poles, which is superenergetic.
That and theoretically they also emit Hawking radiation, which are virtual particles that popped into the Universe and instead of mutually destroying each other right after, were instead separated from their brothers and sent shooting out through the cosmos.
