ROLES Unit CO - Commanding officer for the unit, deals directly with the ship's command structure, and the UEMC command back on earth. Handles issues of discipline within the unit, along with tactical oversight, and overall strategy and security off the ship.
Unit XO - Executive officer to the CO, very much has the same roles within the unit itself. Does not talk often with the ship's commissioned officers, but it isn't exactly surprising when he does. In place of the responsibilities of talking to higher powers, the XO usually has a better raport with the NCOs in his unit. "Staff sergeant".
Gunnery Sergeant - Handles heavy and exotic weaponry for the squad. Is trained in maintenance of non-standard equipment, such as fixing jams in specialized weapons like the rail-gun. Is often the most senior member of the team, who chooses to specialize as a Gunnery Sergeant and remain where they are for the rest of their career. "Staff sergeant".
Corpsman - Trained beyond the basic stabilization of bullet wounds, such as how to use combat stims, and other drugs effectively. Talks directly to ship-side medical personnel when transferring casualties to their care and informs them of the severity of their injuries.
Squad Leader - Commands Fireteam Leaders in tactical actions. While Fireteam Leaders direct individual troops, the Squad Leader has a grander picture of the firefight at hand thanks to information relayed by subordinates. Is usually quite experienced.
Fireteam Leader - Retains tactical control of small, sub-squad sized units in combat. Directs fire, and provides information to their superiors to help them get a better picture of the battlefield.
Grenadier - Carries a standard battle rifle, with the addition of a grenade launcher. Clears clusters of opposition at long ranges, or flushes out hard to reach foes such as heavy machine gun, or sniper emplacements.
SAW Gunner - Carries the Squad Automatic Weapon to provide suppressive fire for the squad's fireteams. Allows more free movement for advancing troops against strongpoints.
Designated Marksman - Carries a Designated Marksman's Rifle, a semi-automatic, moderate capacity weapon to deal with targets beyond the standard rifleman's range. Is NOT a sniper.
Rifleman - Standard infantry, issued with a battle rifle.

When on the ground, Marines have COMPLETE command authority. All Naval staff will heed their directions in combat, or when a corporal or higher perceives there is a threat.
Under NO circumstance may a Marine threaten Naval staff with a firearm or blade without the First Sergeant or Captain's approval. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in court-martial. Marines are reminded they have hand-to-hand training, and are advised to use it when safe, to disarm a situation.
APPLYING FOR THE UEMC Nice and simple. If you wish to apply for a position in the marines, just contact me over Steam Friends and we can discuss it. Most positions can be pretty easily taken, we'll just chat about it.

Due to Gaunt's leaving/Cortez's cryosleep, the XO automatically becomes CO. The End's responsibility is to now find a new XO, and make sure it runs.
Best of luck.
