I've acted as a medical specialist on TNB's (and ERP's while it was around) Terminator Roleplay server for the better part of two years, and I've acted as these server's de facto (or official) medical officer for the Resistance for the past few months.

I'm not always the best at getting real-life details right, granted, and I certainly couldn't tell you exactly what artery ruptured, but I am at least familiar with a general range of topics so that I at least understand what I'm getting into, and even if I don't, it's not hard for me to at least deduct the general path I need to follow to fix someone. While I've had a comrades who are actual medical students, I could never hope to have that much expertise firsthand, so I've always considered myself at least partially well off, having learned most of what I've learned through observation and imitation.

Long story short, I've been doing medical RP and acting as a Medical specialist for almost 2 years now, I'm familiar with a broad range of topics, and I rely on logic when I can't rely on that knowledge. I also have the patience for and actively enjoy medical RP, so I can be counted on to perform it if others are unavailable.

Would you research this position:Only applies for medical/engineering section.

Of course I would. I hardly consider myself an OOC expert on medicine. Also given that this is the future, it's conceivable that I'd need to expand my research to include current developments in cybernetics and genetics, so yes, I definitely would.

Why do you want this position: Firearms, munitions, ordnance and military history. These things have always been a passion of mine. When most kids were watching Disney, I was on the history channel learning about World War II and other conflicts. I practically have OCD when it comes to details about these, such as if someone mistypes a caliber on a weapon I -have- to correct them. When my friends or even teachers have a question about the military, they come to me. I am not an all-knowing genius, but I do know a lot more than your average civilian.

I've been role playing many years now, but I feel the role that I play best is a figure of authority and service. Better put, a military man. A good number of my characters have a background in the military no matter what I play. I don't do it for the 'skills' or to power game as a super soldier as some would put it, I just find those types of characters to be what I excel at.

Furthermore, I'm currently looking into the United States Navy for when I graduate. This is a position I'd be interested in serving in if I do enlist. No matter what branch I do go in, I'm pretty dead set on serving my nation.

Would you research this position: You bet your ass I will research this position. As I write this application I'm tabbing through a few resources relating to the Gunner's Mate rating in the modern day Navy. Any sources you give me I will treat as the word of god. I'm practically going to cram myself in the next coming days with naval information, procedure, and tradition. And if this is approved, I would not mind having a few recommendations on what to study. I'm going to try to put my best in to play this position as believable as possible.

I would like to see myself placed into this position for a multitude of reasons. First off, I believe my lengthy list of previous positions (Which will be included at the bottom of this application) will show that I have an exceptional amount of relevant experience. Secondly, I am a fan of the style of roleplay that is done while in a security position and would like to be able to assist in the development and execution of that roleplay alongside Heinrich. Lastly, I believe that by attaining this position it will round out the Shipboard Security team that will be ready to make its mark at the launch of the roleplay this week.

Operational Specialist is a very important and technologically-orientated role. Riley didn't really refer to his interest in the specifics of that, and I feel that could be very risky. Hit me up in SF if you want to have a chat regarding it Riley; but for now, I am unfortunately going to have to deny this to be safe.

Why do you want this position: While I am a decent medical RPer, I really want to do something that I haven't done before, which is a more technical role. An Op Specialist juggles many different responsibilities while on the bridge, and handles many different things, such as managing firing solutions, communications, possibly navigational information and general tactical coordination, all from the bridge. It's a hard role to picture rolled up into one person, but I reasoned that it'd be fairly similar to that of Lt. Gaeta from Battlestar Galactica, who was incidentally one of my favorite characters, so I at least have a general idea of what to work from if I ever get lost.

Generally speaking, I want to do this because it gives me the ability to do something fresh and new, while still being able to apply myself usefully. And let's face it, bridge crew is fun.

The rating you seem to be referencing is a naval counselor. It is a rating typically held by a Petty Officer first class. Past what you expounded upon in your application, this position also includes liaison with media outlets and civilian recruitment, as well as career building techniques and training therein.
